General Biology is designed to meet the needs of students who may be college bound as well as those not college bound. This course is one of three science courses required by the State of Minnesota for graduation. General Biology is an overview of the concepts related to the major themes of cell structure and function, reproduction, metabolism, homeostasis, heredity, evolution, and interdependence.  Students will engage in classroom discussions, lab activities, outdoor projects, lectures, and presentations.  Some independent projects will be required during the course.

It is the hope and goal of this course to build scientific literacy in students and to prepare them for more advanced courses to be taken at BHS.
